Team Twirl

Team Twirl is a non-audition, non-competitive performance group that gives dancers a chance to shine at community events, theme parks, and other cool venues.

WHY TEAM TWIRL?

Team Twirl creates lifelong memories through a variety of performance opportunities for dancers age 6-18, while offering valuable experience for students who are interested in a professional career in the entertainment/commercial dance industry.

  • Team Twirl teaches dancers to bring their best to the stage and work together as a team without the pressure of judgement and comparison that’s common in competition dance.
  • This community performance team produces gracious and giving dancers who offer their talents freely to audiences, as opposed to competition dance, where dancers are trained to perform to receive awards and trophies.
  • Professionalism is emphasized in both rehearsals and performances, setting students up for success when they transition to experiences beyond Twirl.
  • Performing in different venues and different environments helps dancers become adaptable and sharpens their ability to think on their feet in different situations.
  • Limited rehearsal time for both the Christmas and spring performances means that students acquire the skill of picking up choreography quickly, which is crucial to successful professional and college dance auditions.
  • Increased training means that dancers can expect more rapid progress in technique and dance skills.

SERVE

At Twirl, we believe that dance is a gift to be used to serve others. Whether dancing at a nursing home or in a Broadway show, the dancer’s main obligation is to share their talents as a gift to the audience. This is at the heart of Team Twirl. Serving others by bringing joy through the art of dance is what it’s all about. No competitions. No trophies. No awards. Just a simple focus on giving to the community.
